Asked to name his major influences, Marty cites "Bobby, Freddie and Eddie; Bobby Radcliff is an incendiary guitarist who dominated the D.C. scene when I was a teenager. The classic instrumentals of Freddie King were some of the first songs I ever learned and, I was heavily influenced by the raw, driving guitar sound of Eddie Taylor." In addition to Marty on guitar and vocals, "Let's Buzz Awhile" features some of the finest blues and jazz players on the scene today. Check out a sample tune below: Marty has shared the stage with Fenton Robinson, Carey Bell, Bobby "Blue" Bland, J.B. Hutto, Hound Dog Taylor's Houserockers, Johnny Winter, John Hammond, Bobby Radcliff, guitar legend Danny Gatton, Jr. Walker and the All-Stars and many others. He continues to play at festivals and special engagements with internationally known artists. (Naturally, he designed and illustrated the CD cover.) "An impressive, entertaining disk ... rooted in the blues tradition.
"Swingin' out! Marty is one of my favorite guitarists on the planet."
"Great stuff! Marty sounds like my man, Mickey Baker."
